Versatility: Nina Project

Here in the Philippines specially in the world of local music industry versatility is the name of the game. To be able to survive one must be versatile. For the past couple of years i had the oppurunity to make different music from diffrent genre. In this series of blogs ill be posting some of the projects i had with other artists. some projects may not be hiphop related but this to show that thru this projects i have learned a lot from arranging to sequencing and be able to distinguish what sound a certain market demands. dont get me wrong my love for hiphop music in untarnished hihphop music has given me a lot of oppurtunity from travelling to other countries to buying things that i want to have. however we have to do some reality check we need to be flexible so enough yidi yada here they are....

Nina
Record Label: Warner Music Philippines
Song Titile: Heaven featuring artstrong and 2nd floor
Album: Heaven
Year:2003

Heaven Remix featuring Artstrong

2nd Floor

This Project was given to me by Neil Gregorio of Warner Music Philippines the big boss during that time was Sir Ricky Ilacad whom i had the opportunity to meet and talk to. After the Rekognize album that was distributed by warner i recieved a call from Neil. He asked me to drop by there office this was still in malate manila just beside malate church and he said that he has a project he gave me a demo of nina and i was really mesmerized by her voice he explained to me what ninas packaging is and that the album demanded a hiphop vibe to it. he asked me to include an Mc that has a distinct voice. that time jarule was quite hot so i had Nathan J in my mind however i had no way of contacting him. quite fortunate though for artstrong we were making the legit misfits album that time so we were pretty much close so i asked artstrong to drop some rhymes and he did a good job to the song.

Jsin in the philippines

The story behind JSIN's album In the philippines

ey how yall doin everyone its been a long time and ive decided to write this blog to share to you and to clear certain issues about jsins album. ive meet jsin around 1995 through a friend of mine from brent named Amit vacharranuthani. jason was quite young during that time but i could say he was very pleasant and quite an easy going person. very sociable. after sometime i was able to loose track of him and after a couple of years we were able to connect once again

around 2004 before he got into an accident. we got intouch again i cant remeber quite well how but he talked to me about making an album. during that time i was already producing and arranging various songs and albums for diffrent artist. so being an arranger i accepted his proposal. and we started recording some songs in the studio that i used to work in marikina called MAFS recording studio this was located at cinco hermanos subdivison just at the back of blue ridge where he lived.Thinking that the location of the studio was convinient to him he decided to do his album at MAFS. during that time i saw the artist side of jsin and how dedcated he was in making the album the first few songs we recorded were in the philippines featuring Maegan Aguilar and JJJ featuring Miss Radha and other tracks that also featured arists such as Dcoy,2tay and Mista blaze. most of his songs were all about his lifestyle and how he loved his stay here in the philippines. it has no connotation to violence nor the songs were gang related it was just songs that describes his life here in the philippines. There were also other producers who made tracks on jsins album among them are dj arbie won, quiazy illeon and dj trenz.

After recording a couple of songs in his album he decided to pull out the whole project from us and continued the album production with his uncle Mr Abe Hipolito whom i believe is a cousin of Mr Freddie Agular. I was a little adamant by this with Jason because i was hoping we will finish the album however because jason was the producer of the album i have no power to even say no to his wish. We had arguments about this but we resolved it like gentlemen. This is to say that never did Jason used foul words nor shouted at me. instead he explained meekly his reasons and i can say that jayson was no violent person.

As a reuslt of the pullout most of the songs were re arranged by his unlce elements such as guitars and percussions were added. and the the whole album was mixed and mastered in another studio.and after this we seperated our own ways to pursue other things. but before that jsin made sure that we were all paid for the services we provided. in addition some songs in his soundclick account were not included in the album and was recorded by other individuals. which appeared on his mixtapes.

I would like to share to you an exclusivle track that was not released in his album this was the 1st version of the song please feat 2tay back to back with the album version.
